Our Kune Kune Pigs
Gentle, intelligent, and full of character — our Kune Kunes are at the heart of Little Lightmoor Farm. Calm, friendly, and happiest on grass, they fit perfectly with our values of care, respect, and family.

Our love for Kune Kune pigs goes back over 25 years. We first came across them while in New Zealand, and their calm nature and friendly personalities instantly won us over.
When we returned home, we started with a small pair — a brother and sister — and later brought in a boar to begin breeding. Over time, we kept some of their offspring here on the farm, and although those first pigs have long since gone, our fondness for the breed never faded.
Today, Joe has continued that passion by building a small herd of his own at Little Lightmoor Farm.
We’ve started with a cream trio — two sisters and a brother — and also have Josie, a pedigree gilt with the sweetest temperament. She isn’t part of the breeding group but is very much part of the family and a firm favourite around the farm.

Our Breeding Vision
This year we took the next step and welcomed Martha, a pedigree gilt from the outstanding breeder at Maisemore Kune Kune Pigs. Martha had a fantastic 2025 show season, winning at the Smallholders Royal Welsh and taking 2nd place at the Three Counties Show.
She’s now in pig, with her litter due in December 2025 — an exciting milestone for our farm.
We’ve registered our own Kune Kune Pig Society prefix: Whānau — the Māori word for family.
It’s our way of honouring the breed’s New Zealand heritage and reflecting what these pigs mean to us: family, gentleness, and connection.
Our goal is to grow a small, high-quality herd that celebrates both the heritage of the Kune Kune and the friendly, family-focused values of Little Lightmoor Farm.

We currently have pedigree Kune Kune piglets available.
All piglets have been handled regularly by our children and are very used to people. They are calm, friendly, and will make lovely pets or additions to an existing smallholding.
We’re always happy to chat with anyone interested in Kune Kunes — whether you’re new to pigs or adding to your herd.
